Xiamen University Scholarship 2027: Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, make sure you meet the academic and age requirements. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee admission or a scholarship.
- Be a non-Chinese citizen in excellent health both physically and mentally.
- Master’s: A bachelor’s degree is required.
- PhD: Applicants should hold a master’s degree.
- Age (CSC scholarship): Applicants for a master’s degree should be under 35 years old; applicants for a PhD should be under 40 years old.
- Age (XMU University Scholarship): ≤ 40 for Master’s applicants, ≤ 45 for PhD applicants.
- Age (PhD Fellowship, China Studies Program): Up to 50 years old for PhD applicants.

Xiamen University China: Coverage and Benefits
XMU offers five types of fully funded scholarships. The coverage for each is below.

How to Apply for Xiamen University China Scholarship 2027
Applications are submitted through the CSC portal and the XMU university portal. Follow the steps closely.
Step 1: Email for Acceptance
Prepare a CV and email it to professors at Xiamen University in China to request an acceptance letter.
Step 2: Prepare Your Documents & Apply for Admission/Scholarship
Gather your passport, birth certificate, parents’ identity documents, notarized education documents, acceptance letter, two recommendation letters, physical examination form, English proficiency letter, personal statement, police clearance certificate, and financial support guarantee statement.
Register an account on the XMU international student application system, fill in your application, choose your program and scholarship type, and upload all supporting documents.
Step 3: Apply Through the CSC Portal
If you are applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship, also submit your application on the CSC online system before the deadline.
Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
Pay the application fee of RMB 400 following the instructions in the portal. If you need help with fee payment, you can contact us at china@gsscholarships.com.
Step 5: Wait for Review and Results
The university will review your application. Monitor your application account and email for updates, and follow official notices for results.
